Tympanosclerosis

Tympanosclerosis is characterised by chalky-white patches of scar tissue seen on the tympanic membrane.  This scarring is due to a violation of the fibrous tissue plane in the middle of the tympanic membrane.

Patches of tympanosclerosis throughout the pars tensa with a small area of dimeric tympanic membrane following the insertion of a ventilation tube.
